20 Questions with Krisztina Szabó

You'll remember Krisztina Szabó from 2011's La clemenza di Tito. This time, she gets to wear a dress as she sings Musetta in La bohème! Here are her answers to 20 Questions.

1. Guilty musical pleasure? 

2. Where do you love to sing? 
In the bathroom - the resonance of the tiles makes you feel like a singing goddess :)

3. What is your idea of earthly happiness?
Sleeping in until noon, being served breakfast in bed, having a massage, having a nap, eating sushi, watching a good movie, giving my daughter lots of squishy hugs.

4. To what faults do you feel most indulgent?
 Vanity. Can you pass me that mirror?

5. Who are your favourite heroes/heroines of fiction?
Anne of Green Gables. Spunky, gets into lots of trouble but manages to be good and wholesome at the same time.

6. Who are your favourite characters in history?

7. Who are your favourite heroes/heroines in real life?

8. Who is your favourite author? 
 Too many to choose from - but Jeffrey Eugenides (Middlesex) comes to mind.

9. Your favourite musician?
Anne Sophie Von Otter.

10. Your favourite composer?
Mozart. Wagner. 

11. What quality do you most admire in a person?
Intelligence and a self-deprecating sense of humour
12. Your favourite virtue?
Honesty.  No wait, I'm lying..

13. Your favourite occupation?

14. What did you want to be as a child?
 I wanted to be married to Bo Duke on the TV show Dukes of Hazzard and drive the General Lee.  Also, I wanted to be a tap dancer.. and a grocery store clerk.

15. Your most marked characteristic? 
Personality-wise:  Sensitivity.  

16. What do you most value in your friends? 
Being a good listener and the ability to make me laugh.

17. For what would you like to be remembered?  
That I lived and loved to the fullest.

18. What natural gift would you most like to possess?
Flexibility. Yoga class would be so much for fun.

19. What is your motto? 
Go big or go home.  

20. What non-opera song do you rock?
Someone Like You by Adele
