VO Goes to Richmond!

Vancouver Opera travels to Richmond’s charming historic Minoru Chapel to perform two concerts on Wednesday, March 7 at 2:00pm and 7:00pm.

Host and pianist Kinza Tyrrell, Vancouver Opera’s Principal Répétiteur and Associate Chorus Director, along with three accomplished Vancouver singers – baritone Aaron Durand, soprano Melanie Krueger, and tenor Frederik Robert – will perform a selection of highlights from VO’s recent and upcoming productions such as Mozart’s joyful The Magic Flute and Puccini’s tragic love story La Bohème.

Most recently Aaron Durand was seen and heard in the UBC presentation of Dvorak’s Rusalka.  “A much needed comic relief was provided by Ana Toumine as the frightened kitchen boy and Aaron Durand, the plump gamekeeper.” – UBC Events

Kinza Tyrrell and Melanie Krueger will be performing in the upcoming Vancouver Bach Choir presentation on Saturday, February 25 at 8pm at the Orpheum. This exciting and unusual concert features works by Stravinsky, Orff and Marcel Bergmann for chorus, soloists and an orchestra consisting of four pianos and percussion.

Frederik Robert will be performing in the premiere of opera cabaret Love in Public by composer David MacIntyre at the Fei and Milton Wong Experimental Theatre from April 19 – 29.

Join us at Minoru Chapel on March 7th and be transported by beautiful music performed by these talented artists in this intimate setting.
